WRITERS IN RESIDENCE

Poet and novelist Darnell Arnoult is the co-director with Denton Loving of the Mountain Heritage Literary Festival and associate professor/writer-in-residence at Lincoln Memorial University. She is our host for the Cumberland Gap/Table Rock Studio and will participate in evening discussions/critiques of your works in progress.

Georgann Eubanks is director of the Table Rock Writers Workshop and the author of poems, stories, profile pieces, and a three book series called Literary Trails of North Carolina, published by UNC Press. She will also be in residence to make sure that all participants have the environment they need to write productively.

Novelist Pamela Duncan will be our special guest and opening speaker at the Cumberland Gap/Table Rock Spring Studio 2012.

Pam is the author of three novels--Moon Women, Plant Life, and The Big Beautiful with a fourth on the way. She teaches at Western Carolina University and is active in fighting mountaintop removal.

THESE THREE WRITERS will be in residence during the entire Table Rock Spring Studio and will be available at meals and every evening to offer guidance, advice, and to answer questions about your work in progress.

Each evening we'll gather after supper and each of us will take a turn teaching one night. You'll also have a chance to share some of your work with the whole group if you wish. And we'll end each evening with encouragement for the next day's writing.

Each of us will also offer an optional writing prompt to help you get started or unstuck each morning after breakfast.
